'Tacos, Teardrops & Tequila' script book published

The print publication of the "10-Minute Play Festival"Tacos, Teardrops & Tequila, a series of short plays that were written, directed, and acted by residents of the Coachella Valley and produced by the East Valley Repertory Theatre Company is now available. Themes of love, family, loss, and bi-cultural span throughout the stories, including my script "Fairy Godmother."

On Saturday, March 12, East Valley Rep held a book signing for this series of plays as their first publication. It was also my first book signing. Although I unfortunately couldn't stay the entire evening, I was overjoyed to see all the talented and hard-working people from East Valley Rep and the Coachella Valley Art Center. It's amazing to be part of such an event that truly came full circle.

Beginning with an open call for submissions in the newspaper that landed me an opportunity to take part in their writer's workshops, we hashed out our stories and dove into rehearsals, which spiraled into production, and has now become a print publication. It's been a wonderful, enlightening experience.

Thank you to East Valley Rep, especially creative director Carlos Garcia, the Coachella Valley Art Center in Indio, to the Crisalida Community Arts Project, and to my friends and family for their love and support. I am grateful for the encouragement and the blessings from everyone in my life.

The "10-Minute Play Festival" was supported by the Crisalida Community Arts Project of the McCallum Theatre, with funding from the Irvine Foundation. Tacos, Teardrops & Tequila is available at www.lulu.com.

A special thank you to my sister, Andrea Sheree (@dreamagpie), for her photography skills for that evening.
